Minerva Iron Mink Van, W11307, recently weathered for Talyllyn.
BR 20ton Brake Van, Number: B950523
This is a British Railways 20t Brake Van kit from Connoisseur (Jin McGowan). The kit is in Brass with whitemetal castings and brass wire. I've used the Peartree Engineering 3-hole disc wheels and bearings. Finished in BR Bauxite livery, Poppy's Woodtech wooden panelling cut down to suit and weathered. This van has real glass fitted to the windows, microscope slide cover slips have been used. I've also fitted this van with two YouChoos O Gauge lamps, one at each end. The wires were taken inside the body and small home made spring pick-ups were fitted to collect track current from the wheels. I run the lamps through a Zimo MX686 Function Decoder and a 1000uF Capacitor as a Stay Alive. I use 10k resistors to drop the voltage down so the lamps were not bright, wired to the F0 function outputs, the lamps are directionally switched and the van can be added to a train as a consist and show the red lamp at the rear.
BR (WR) 'TOAD' Brakevan, Number: W68851
BR (Ex GWR) 'TOAD' Brakevan again from the Connoisseur Models range of brass kits, this one having one of the veranda doors modelled in the open position and again lighting is being fitted to this brake van just like the BR brake van above. I have again used the Peartree Engineering wheels for this van. The Guard is from the Modelu range of figures and detailing components, although my painting of him doesn't do the figure justice, he looks like one of the blues brothers!!!! Finished in Unfitted BR Grey wagon livery and weathered, this van has had real glass fitted to the window apertures in the form of microscope slide cover slips.
BR 12t Ventilated Van, Number: W65037
This BR Ventilated van was built from a Parkside Dundas kit and uses the Slaters wheels provided in the kit. I have finished it in BR Bauxite as a fitted van and weathered it as a well used vehicle.
BR (Ex LMS) 12t Ventilated Van, Number: M510344
This BR (LMS) Ventilated van is from the Just Like the Real Thing range of kits and has been fitted with Peartree 3-hole disc wheel sets, Railtec Transfers and finished in BR Bauxite livery as a fitted vehicle. I have weathered the van as a well used van as these were seeing their days out as the standard BR vans replaced them slowly.
BR (Ex GWR) 10t Iron Mink Van, Number: W11307
This is a Minerva Models RTR product and it is just as it comes out of the box in BR unfitted Grey livery and spoked wheels. I have two of these and I am going to convert one of them to a GPV (Gun Powder Van) in Black livery with the flush panelled doors and the big red 'X' on the sides.
