Talyllyn Junction is currently under construction, so please keep revisiting to see progress
Starting to create the picture I think!!! The tunnel mouth has been constructed from scratch by Brian Slack, and he's captured the thing superbly.

Here is a YouTube video from my channel showing 8750 class Pannier 9648 on the Pick-up goods service dropping a couple of wagons off in the siding. Shunting from the long siding across the junction.

Three steps forward, two back!!!
Over the last few weeks I have had to undertake an unnecessary bit of work, through a miscalculation on my part with the height of the platforms. I had got the platform supporting structure in place for both platforms, but unfortunately I had built it too tall by about 3mm!!!! So up came the old platform sub-structures and a clean slate started. I then looked at the requirement for point rodding along the edge of the platform on both sides, and decided to get this built up whilst the edging was off to make life easier. I have used the excellent Modelu Reading stools and MSE components 0.7mm square rod, with the MSE etches for the cranks and compensators. Once the rodding was in place, I then used the pre cut 3mm ply for the platform edging. I mounted some blocks along where the edging would be going and then I overlaid the 3mm ply edging with Slaters Random Stone Plastikard. This was then sprayed with Halfords Grey Primer before being panel pinned into place. I constructed a recess for the compensator along the length and a hole where the signal box is situated for the rodding runs to extend from. The platform sub-structure was laser cut by Phil at Intentio at 30mm high by 2' long sections, 3mm thick. This has given a solid base for the platform top to be fitted onto by panel pins. I started at the signal box end with the platform top and have got just one 2' section on for now. This will be topped with 0.020" Plastikard cut into individual slabs for the edging and the areas where the slabs were. The other areas of the platform were tarmac, which will be represented with fine Woodland Scenics cinder scatter material held down with PVA.
I took the opportunity of taking a couple of photographs, including one holding a print of Talyllyn to show the similarity which I hope I'm creating. ;)
