Dapol Fowler 3F 'Jinty' 0-6-0t Locomotive in BR unlined black with late crest. This locomotive will be 47479 of Swansea shed where she worked from until 1962, when she was transferred up North to Crewe before being withdrawn. I have fitted this loco with a Zimo MX645 Sound Decoder loaded with the Paul Chetter sound project for the Jinty. I have also fitted a twin speaker system to the loco as well as a stay alive in the smokebox. I have ordered some Laurie Griffin vac and steam pipes and some Narrow planet smokebox no/shed code and works plates.
Here is 47479 after the fitting of transfers, Laurie Griffin vacuum and steam pipes and Narrow Planet works plates, smokebox number plate, shed plate and tank capacity plate on the bunker. I have also replaced the chimney with a Laurie Griffin casting and also the safety valve base has been changed for the correct round version.
Pannier Tank: No. 9648.
This is a Minerva, 8750 Class 0-6-0PT in BR Black Livery and Late Crest and Top Feed fitted. The loco is fitted with a Zimo MX645 Sound Decoder along with a Twin Speaker unit 3D printed and fitted inside one of the side tanks. It also is fitted with a Stay Alive which is fitted inside the smokebox. I have used Slaters Vacuum and Steam pipes and I've weathered it as a hard used and slightly tired loco. The number plates, smokebox number and shedcode are all from Narrow Planet. She has also been finished with the weathering now with some water splashes and runs down the tank sides from the fillers. I have also fitted her with a crew from Modelu which has been expertly painted by Claudia Everett, both of which are given as links on the links page for your information.
The real locomotive was an 87A Neath loco up to 1964, and this is how she is modelled.
Pannier Tank No. 8791
This is a Minerva 0-6-0 Class 8750 Pannier Tank in BR Black livery with Late Crest and no Top Feed. This loco is again fitted with a Zimo MX645 Sound Decoder, loaded with the Paul Chetter Pannier Tank sound project, through a twin speaker unit 3D printed and fitted inside one of the pannier tanks. It also has the Stay Alive fitted into the smokebox. I am currently adding the details to this locomotive, before weathering it as another well used locomotive. Laurie Griffin Vac and Steam pipes can be seen on this one.
This particular Pannier was a stalwart alongside it's Brother above from 87A Neath until withdrawal.
Pannier Tank No. 4679
Minerva 0-6-0, Class 8750 Pannier Tank in BR Black livery with Late Crest and fitted with a Top Feed. This loco is again fitted with a Zimo MX645 Sound Decoder, loaded with the Paul Chetter Pannier sound project through a Zimo twin speaker in a 3D printed enclosure. It also has a Stay Alive mounted in the smokebox. I am currently undertaking the detailing of this loco prior to weathering as a used example.
This loco was a Merthyr (88D) locomotive, finishing its days after 1963 at Radyr.
I have also added a single lamp to the front of this locomotive and it is worked with one of the function outputs from the Zimo MX645 decoder. It will shine both red and white and I've used a 10K resistor to reduce the brightness of the LED.
